Reviews
I have always had a good experience every time I go. usually I get the daily special (which has been the same special since forever), but this time I decided to get the chicken teriyaki. Service is always quick and fast which is one thing I love about going here. I'm always in and out. sometimes I enjoy eating in because it's so quiet and smells so good but most times I get it to-go. My favorite thing about the chicken teriyaki was the sauce. It wasn't too salty or sweet. The texture of their rice is always so nice, zucchini is never too mushy or too hard, and the chicken is always cooked perfectly. I love coming here when i'm in town and I love bringing my out-of-town friends here! You need to try the rice with their Yum Yum sauce too. It's to die for!
Let's be honest, this isn't 5 star Japanese cuisine, but they don't pretend to be. This is simple, fast, but also tasty, Japanese style food. Their sushi is basic, the Japanese style dishes are somewhat reminiscent of the Japanese style food I would eat in Okinawa - mostly tailored for the American palate, not the Japanese. So, what makes this place worth 4 stars? The combination of price, experience, expectation, and taste. They have a regular sesame chicken special (not to be confused with the Americanized Chinese dish of the same name). It's not battered and fried, and it's not sweet. IMHO, it's better. And you can't beat the price of $6.99. The portions are good, everything is made fresh, the sushi is fair (but so is the price). Reading some of the older reviews it's easy to see why restaurant owners fislike Yelpers. Two words, unfair expectations. If you expect five star experiences at a two star price, you're the one that's delusional. If you get what you pay for then you only have room to praise, not condemn. Their service is fast, this place is not fancy but the owners keep it clean. I've never been in there where they aren't mopping the floor or wiping down tables and the like. And they're very friendly! Small towns like this need people like this who are willing to open up restaurants and charge fair prices. The alternative is a town filled with boring chain restaurants or, even worse, poorly run chains run by people who don't care! So, buy local when you can!
Currently my favorite Asian food in the area, including Huntsville. The service is always quick and the people are friendly. Good price too.
Good sushi but California roll has artificial crab meat. Hostess or cashier could be more friendly - I almost left on my first visit there because of scowling and she didn't like answering my questions. Hibachi food is good and full of veg.
Great sushi rolls! I love the Twins roll. The shrimp soba and chicken teriyaki are really good, too.
